Making early decisions without all the data

This morning I got an email from my boss asking me if I wanted to let my class run or have it cancelled.

There were 9 students enrolled in my class then, and that is less than the number required to run the class.

I knew that the two self-paced Math labs we teach had long waiting lists and if I canceled my lecture class these 9 students wouldn't have a place to go and would be behind a semester getting their courses completed.

I sent my boss a return email telling her to run the class.  Running a class with less than the minimum number of students enrolled has a negative impact on my pay check.  The good news is that by the end of the day the class made 10 and I get a full pay check.

  2. Maybe I'm branching out. Maybe I've gone nuts. (if so, how will anyone know the difference)
